Productions


Blue Box Entertainment has general managed plays, musicals and comedy in the West End, in the regions, at the Edinburgh Festival and in Europe for clients in the commercial, subsidised and not-for-profit sectors. We have particular expertise in developing and enhancing work from smaller stages and placing it in the large commercial theatres in London and the regions.

Our work has won four Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical for Jerry Springer - The Opera, which also won Best Musical awards from the Evening Standard Awards, the Critics Circle Awards and the WhastonStage.com Theatregoer's Choice Awards. In 2007 Eurobeat - almost Eurovision won the inaugural Best Musical Award at the Edinburgh Festival and in 2008 it was nominated for the Evening Standard Award for Best Musical.

Over the last ten years Blue Box Entertainment has generated business plans for scores of productions, informing our clients as they make the difficult decision of how, when, and whether to proceed with their project.

Full scale productions in the West End have included Eurobeat - almost Eurovision by Craig Christie and Andrew Patterson, produced and directed by Glynn Nicholas; Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens by Charlotte Mann, directed by Mike Fiddler; Round the Horne... Revisited, Round the Horne... Revisited 2, and Round the Horne Special Christmas Edition written and produced by Brian Cooke (also at the Royal Variety Performance); Bat Boy the Musical written by Laurence O'Keefe et al.; Jerry Springer - The Opera by Richard Thomas and Stewart Lee at the National Theatre and in the West End which won four Olivier Awards and all four Best New Musical awards; Al Murray - The Pub Landlord;The Madness of George Dubya by Justin Butcher; and Noises Off by Michael Frayn, directed by Jeremy Sams; and also Way of the World by William Congreve at Wilton's Music Hall.

Regional productions have included: Eurobeat - Almost Eurovision; Return to the Forbidden Planet by Bob Carlton; National Hero by Terry Mackay; three long tours of Round the Horne... Revisited; Bat Boy the Musical at West Yorkshire Playhouse; Deathtrap by Ira Levin; and production and general management work at Leicester Haymarket Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre.

At the Edinburgh Festival we have general managed Jerry Springer - The Opera; Eurobeat - almost Eurovision; Certified Male with Les Dennis by Glynn Nicholas and Scott Rankin; and produced two plays by Steward Lee with Simon Munnery and Miles Jupp being Johnson and Boswell - Late but Live at the Traverse which later toured in Scotland and Elizabeth and Raleigh - Late but Live at Underbelly.
